I live in Timbuktu!
A few years back: The above words are my top excuse whenever a friend or family member is asking me when will I have my lasik done, silly Sally in the house yo!
I will be forever in glasses and contacts for I am a scared whenever the topic is about lasik (I am such a loser, I know!) I know it hurts! One thing about me is that I cannot tolerate pain, so to people who may have done or had lasik surgery done - I truly admire your courage and bravery for doing so lol.
I have heard alot of stories about lasik (mostly possitive and a bit of negative) but still gives me creeps for there are chances of infections but are relatively rare one of my dearest friends told me so… No - I am not convinced yet! I am still in the process of absorbing everything and weighing the pros and cons of it…
More excuses: Coming up…
Let’s face it, Lasik is very expensive back then! Plus my health insurance does/will not cover it (it is really not covered by any health insurance companies! such a lame excuse for it is considered in the cosmetic category? I guess…)
Lately I have been having a change of heart regarding lasik! Cause a few weeks ago my Uncle from California called me and asked me about the condition of my deteriorating vision… To cut the long story short, he offered me to have a Lasik in Silicon Valley! Oh my god! At that moment I could not think of anything (tears were flowing in my cheeks) thanks so much! (that is the most precious gift I got my whole life - to have a clear vision again!) I guess no more silly excuses for not having a lasik done… Hahahahaaa…
I did my homework done - I have research about LaserVue (where I am going to have it done) their doctors have been certified by the nonprofit USAEyes.org Lasik patient advocacy. LaserVue surgeons have performed more than 25,000 procedures. (now I can breathe more easily, cause I know they can be trusted!) It is really not expensive! For I have check it’s website and they are offering a no interest financing is available to everybody and can apply online so you know if you qualify even before you make an appointment. Payments are about $60 a month. It is not that bad at all - later tonight I’ll be giving my uncle a call and tell him that I can manage the payments for it is just low.
