I love Stark Museum!
Ohh I am so excited cause it’s already Friday and as you know, it’ll be a very long weekend, it’s memorial day weekend eh (Which makes me more excited!!!) And for more? I took an off tomorrow from my part-time job.
I won’t be going to some beaches/shores to spend my time off. It’s still a bit chilly, but instead, I will be spending my day at museums here in the city of brotherly love…
I have a very great interest on American Indian Art, Western Art, Decorative Art, Rare books and manuscripts. Which reminds me of Orange, Texas where Stark Museum of Art is. Well Stark Museum of Art has the greatest and the finest collections of 19th and 20th century Western American art and artifacts in our country to this date.
Stark has a fine collection that’s focusing on the art of Native Americans. At Stark they have an exhibition that displays Native Americas clothings, beadwork, ornaments, and much more.
They also provide educational resources for the general public and for students, teachers, and researchers.
If you love things like American West? Well, then you have got to visit the Stark Museum of Art. This museum will give a lot of insight on how the west coast was like in the past two centuries.
After Lutcher Stark’s death in 1965, the Stark Foundation, under Nelda C. Stark’s direction, built the Stark Museum of Art, which opened on November 29, 1978, and still continues to acquire new works of art. Stark operated exclusively for charitable and educational purposes. Through its directors and officers, the Stark Foundation carries on the philanthropic legacy of Nelda and Lutcher Stark.
And guess what? The admission is FREE which is more interesting, who doesn’t want freebies eh? Oh well, next time if ever I will be in Texas, I will definitely pay Stark Museum of Art a visit anyways their just in Orange, Texas…
